Volunteer Coordinator Job Description

Purpose of the Society

To rescue ill, injured, orphaned or oiled wildlife and transport for rehabilitation and eventual release those which have a chance for survival. To share the knowledge gained from this experience with peers, their agencies and the public.

Position Title

Volunteer Coordinator

Description of the Position:

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the overall supervision of the volunteer workers who assist with the programs of the society.
Including the following:
Recruitment of new volunteers
Scheduling and conduct of orientation of new volunteers
Scheduling volunteer work times and following up on no-shows
Communicating with volunteers and resolving any problems
Motivating volunteers to stay involved
Organizing and scheduling continuing educations for the volunteers
Organize volunteer function such as summer BBQ

Qualifications Required

Good organizational skills
Good communication and people skills
Motivated, self-starter able to work without supervision
Any previous experience in this or a similar field is an asset
Computer skills an asset
